I woke up to an extremely loud Bee Gees YouTube concert in my living room this morning. Mike already had one cup of coffee and a bowl of oats & he had weighed in and he was HAPPY!!! I came down the stairs and he said in his happy voice..."Are you going to weigh in?" Hmmmm....I knew he must have had another very good number. I don't know...what was YOUR number? He said..."Ahhh, maybe I shouldn't tell you....I don't want you to be discouraged." JUST TELL ME ALREADY! He's down 2 more pounds....13 pounds!
So I went into the scale...removed anything that weighed more than air..and stepped on. It said -1.5 pounds. I'm okay with that! I have lost a total of 5.5 pounds in 6 days. I'm happy with that and I can see & HEAR how happy HE is with his number!
Heading to Rock the Arts in Coshocton. The granddaughters are dancing at 11 then I am bringing them home for the night and all day tomorrow. I've tried to pre plan all their snacks and meals and I have my lean and green meals planned for both days. Hoping my new order comes soon...I'm out of soup and I really like the soup.
Okay...I'm running late. Spent too much time on facebook this morning. Grace will be waiting by the door. Val said she has been ready since 7am! She should have been here partying with Grandpa Mike and the Bee Gees!!

He's Dancing!
I am so proud of Mike and happy that his weight is coming off fast. He is actually dancing around in a pair of shorts that were previously too tight. I want to do that too....
Just ate our lean & green meal for the first time at lunch. Mike had another turkey burger in a lettuce wrap with cucumbers, mushroom and 3 halved cherry tomatoes. He got full this time! I used leftover chicken breast from earlier in the week and had salad with a cup of shredded lettuce a few cucumber chunks and 3 halved cherry tomatoes. Feeling very satisfied. Planning 3 replacements meals the rest of the day.
The sun is coming out....yeah!
We want to support First Fridays (1st Friday of each month) in downtown Coshocton this evening. Granddaughters are dancing. It's fun! Everyone invited to attend...nice evening in a beautiful area with great friends and family!

I will not be discouraged...I will not be discouraged..I will not...
We just couldn't wait...had to do it....got on the scale....Mike now down 11 pounds!!! I am still at 4.
Okay..trying to rationalize this...so...He is getting lots of walking & lifting exercise at work....he is still put together as God intended...I'm without 1 1/4 kidneys, no gall bladder, no appendix, no female parts and a somewhat rewired bladder system. Yes...I'm sure that has something to do with it!!! Right?
He was so sweet. I think he actually felt bad...(at least in front of me). He kept saying..."don't get discouraged...don't be sad...don't give up".
I'm o.....kay. I'm fixing his food so I know we are doing the exact same things.
Ready to buy my exercise bike today.

Diet Day 6.....Ouch!
I was sleeping soundly after having incredibly WILD dreams all night when I got a leg cramp in my left calf. Jimminy Crickets...that hurt!
Okay...one of my dreams: I was on vacation...looking really HOT, may I add...when these 2 really handsome AIR FORCE guys told me they were flying their stealth- like plane to New York. I asked if I could ride along and they said yes. (They had to go to the Chase Building...is there such a thing in New York?) There was a hand bar on the outside of the cockpit (where I could still see the cute Air Force guys) and I actually flew on the OUTSIDE of that plane while holding onto the handlebar and dangling. I was like a super hero...so strong(and HOT)...not affected at all by the force or the wind. The sights were absolutely beautiful. And that plane did not have to taxi to stop...it just stopped and I would drop down from my little handlebar (still looking really HOT). That was a fun dream...don't have a clue why I had it but am thankful.
There were more but thats the one I remember!
Wow....what a night! We had turkey burgers for dinner (turkey patties with mushrooms wrapped in a lettuce leaf(instead of bun) with a side of cucumbers and cherry tomatoes) Mike ate his and said "I really want another one." Flattering, but that's what got us here!
I did have an old habit moment yesterday....my daycare children were all picked up by 4:30 at which time, in the old days (last week) I would have snacked on something unhealthy while watching my recorded shows. I had that urge yesterday. Thankfully I was due for a meal replacement so I ate a chocolate crunch bar instead! Yeah for me!
Pouring rain here this morning. Mike is home today and he's hungry. Heading out to fix oats!
Feeling a bit tired after my big flight to New York last night....my arms are just a bit sore! :)

Cruisin through a rainy diet day 5
As scary as it seems....it's almost been a no brainer morning....not much diet thinking or planning. Although I am still keeping my notebook/journal with day's meal replacements, snacks, drinks and planned dinner. I wish the struggle could be over in just 5 days but I don't think I can erase decades of bad eating habits in a week.
I used a shake packet today and made a chocolate slushy in the blender. I tried it yesterday and it was a bit grainy...today I mixed the water & mix in a shaker first then poured it over ice in the blender...much better. It will be really good when it's 80 degrees and sunny!
I talked to my mom today about keeping on the program when I'm not able to buy all the pre-made, pre packaged meals. We think it will be pretty easy. I was very worried about the soy protein foods...I didn't like it with the Nutri System program...those soy chips left the worst taste in my mouth..bluck....these Medifast bars, drinks are really good! I've ordered a few more to test taste...anxious to try more soups.
No fruit yet and probably won't be back on it until we have lost a substantial amount of weight, then it's introduced back in gradually.
Funny how much time and dedication I am putting into this now. I could have cared less a month ago. Just goes to show that you have to be ready in your heart and your head! Ok..REALITY CHECK...it's only been 5 days...not 5 months! I know I have some big challenges coming up!!! Mother's Day Banquet dessert buffet....I will be strong...I will be strong...I will be strong....I will win!!!

Diet Day 5....Calm early morning
I don't feel anxious at all this morning. I'm a little tired but I really think it's the weather. We are all ready for the rain and clouds to be over. The summer weather last week was so energizing!
I actually tucked in my earlybirds this morning and laid back down, which I haven't done all week. They are cleaning up their sleeping bags and turning on lights while I do a quick blog post.
Thawing ground turkey for dinner. We have never had ground turkey....hope it's good. Ordered salmon from Schwan...never had it either. Any suggestions on making salmon?
I have to call at 2 today to see if I report for Jury Duty tomorrow morning. Praying it's a NO!! I have so many things I want to do. Val leaves for Cincinnati on Saturday and the girls are staying here. Her race is Sunday morning. Hoping she makes it back for Mother's Day Banquet at church on Sunday evening.
A couple of challenges this weekend....granddaughters who love the DQ, Earls and cooking with Gma.....Banquet Dinner on Sunday (baked steak, potatoes, green beans and homemade dessert buffet). I'm glad I am a week into the program....feeling pretty strong.
Wishing you all a calm morning....

Orange....my favorite color!
The ORANGE roughy for dinner was fantastic. Small salad of spinich & 3 halved cherry tomatoes, and cauliflower & garlic cooked in a teas of olive oil. That fish tasted like it was cooked in butter and all I used was a short spray of Pam in my non stick pan....little salt and pepper and a squeeze of fresh lemon at the end!!! I used to cook my food in a pool of oils, butter and sauces...seems like just 4 days ago...oh...it was just 4 days ago!!! lol
Funny how important that lean and green meal is in our daily routine. I can't wait for Mike's days off so we can have it a little earlier in the day.
Getting ready for Idol...sorry...NOT an Adam fan. He's too much of a performer. Like having a ready made star. I would prefer Danny, love his story or Chris or 16 year old rocker girl...more authentic. Adam will do it on his own.
Ate at 6 and still feeling full!! Enjoy your evening!
