Happy Anniversary Dad and Mom!

It's been 54 years of wedded bliss today...August 22, 2008! 54 years of great food...54 years of fun....54 years of challenges....54 years of family....54 years of friends.....54 years of homemaking....54 years of stuff(most of which is still in the basement and dad's garage!)....54 years of tv....54 years of music...54 years of fashion....54 years of life together.

I'm so blessed to have been there for 53 years of it!

Have a wonderful day! We love you!

Down in 3 Days...Frazeysburg High School

My Dad graduated from FHS with the Class of l950. My mom graduated with the Class of l954. I always loved walking through the hallways and looking for them on the class pictures hanging high on the walls.

I went to Red Raider Basketball games in this gym as a child. I liked sitting on the stage bleachers. Oh and I loved coming to the gym to watch the high school Junior and Senior Class plays on the stage! What a treat!

I attended Jr. High in this building when Frazeysburg consolidated with Dresden, Nashport, Adamsville into the old Jefferson High School building.

Recently, it has been used as the Intermediate building for 5th & 6th grades. The 4 new elementary schools will welcome K-6th and the students will join together in the beautiful Middle School for 7th & 8th grades.

I love our new schools with all their updates but this was still very sad to witness. Someone told me they located the old cornerstone and it contained a time capsule. I hope they make the contents public.

I think the school was built in l918 then added on 30 years later. I'm not sure of my facts...correct me in comments and feel free to add to the memories!

Frazeysburg High School...Red Raiders!

It is being demolished as we "speak."

Mike and I just rode up and took some pictures. I will download and upload them later.

I would love to have some of the old bricks but the area is surrounded by 8 foot fencing.

I went to 7th, 8th and 9th grades in that building. Recently it has been the Tri Valley 5th/6th grade building.

I remember going to lots of school plays and high school basketball games in that wonderful gym.

It is sad to see.....

Happy Birthday Val!

It's a girl!

I was so surprised having convinced myself that Chad was going to have a little brother. I went to the doctor 31 years ago today....3 weeks past my due date...and the doctor said I was having contractions. He sent me to the hospital to "keep them going." It took 6 hours once they got the induction medication going...it was really an easy delivery and she was so cute weighing in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces, 19 inches long.

She has been a blessing every minute of her life.....

By the way....the other names we had picked were Barbie and Amy Dawn....I'm glad Mike's choice won...she doesn't look like an Amy Dawn and she looked just like a Barbie doll but what grief that would have caused for a lifetime! She is our Valerie...perfect name...perfect(well, most of the time)daughter!

Birthday girl and her family. Happy Birthday Valerie!

Time to get rid of my baby weight....

because my baby will be 31 YEARS OLD on Monday! I guess I have to quit using "baby weight" as my excuse! I was 3 weeks overdue around this time 31 years ago.....I even took little Chad to the hospital for stitches in his head and they brought a wheelchair for ME! They didn't even notice the little 19 month old bleeding...just the very pregnant, short, tired looking 22 year old bringing him in!!

I was finally induced on August 11, 1977.....more birthday details later.....oh what a day!

Happy Birthday Grace!

I have seen so many changes in Grace this year. She is taller! Her new favorite color is green and she wants to let her hair grow. She is wonderful with babies and any children smaller than herself. She loves to cook. She still doesn't like being alone. It isn't easy getting a candid picture of Grace....she is always ready with a smile and a pose....and don't even try taking a picture if she isn't wearing a cute outfit or her hair isn't done! She's a girly girl! She loves makes up and nail polish and playing with her dolls.

She is 7 years old TODAY! August 7, 2008

Happy Birthday Gracie Kate!

Goodbye Kindergarten.....Hello First Grade!

Mid Ohio Vintage Motorcycle Race...July 08

The daunting Mid Ohio track. Chad has raced at Daytona and Talledaga but he says the turns at Mid Ohio are the most challenging!

Another view and I think that might be Chad flying by!

We saw nephew Darin and his family at the annual Frazeysburg Homecoming in June. They asked about Chad. We told them he would be up for the Mid Ohio races in July. What a wonderful surprise for Chad and Uncle Mike when they came with their beautiful daughters, Lorin and Lydia to see the races!

Mike was so impressed with this sponsor's trophy. He said it was made by a welder.

Mike took his cornhole boards.

I just loved this picture of cousin Rod talking to Chad before or after a race. Rod attend Mid Ohio every year. He was over on Friday this year.

That is alot of equipment for a 90 degree day!
#1 Pit crew member....dad....giving #1 son a good start!
Chokes me up a little looking at this picture....I love these guys!

I'm not sure if the umbrella was for the rain or the heat, but it's another great father/son picture!
My "Ton Up" man on his big cycle! You go honey!

Keri and Amy keeping things under control at Garage #23!

As much as Mike loves going to MO to see Chad, he also loves hanging out with cousin Rod who lives close by!
I don't remember this man's name but I think his story is that he has gone around the world twice on his motorcycle. He is famous in the biker world.

The closest thing I have to a Bebout grandchild....#281! lol

....some fatherly advice or a good story...

Mike, Chad and Alex

The Wise family hanging out in the garage.

Several people have asked for this blog post of Chad at Mid Ohio! Our nephew, Darin, took some fantastic digitals but I haven't been able to figure out how to get them uploaded to my blog. I'll keep trying.

I am doing this while Mike is at work so I'm not sure all my facts are correct. Chad can correct them in "comments." As you can tell....I just couldn't bring myself to attend yet. Mike LOVES going over and hanging out with our Ton Up Club family but when he says that it's hard to watch, then I KNOW it's going to be tough for me! I totally support Chad's love of the sport and I know he takes every precaution to be safe. Maybe next year....

I know I am his mom, but I think he looks really great in his race gear! Oh by the way...he came in 8th in his race and it was red flagged when 17 riders and their cycles went down. Thankfully he was behind them and rode up on them after it happened. He also had some rain during his race.

Thank you Keri for your great pictures! I love the ones of Mike pushing Chad on the cycle and the one of him holding the umbrella over him on the track!

Darin, Bobbi, Lorin and Lydia....thank you for going over and supporting Chad! And thank you for the incredible pictures! I will keep trying to get them uploaded to my blog so I can share them. The ones of him actually racing are wonderful!

Hope to see more family and friends next year! The last weekend in July!
